Angel
quotes
"Angels teach us
to love and to love well. The sayings "On earth
as it is in heaven," or "As above, so below," relate
to love. For as God loves us, the angels will teach
us to love God, each other, and ourselves."
- Barbara Mark & Trudy Griswold, "The Angelspeake
Storybook"
First, an angel
is spiritually present at whatever place in physical
space happens to be occupied by the body on which
it acts. It can be present at that place without
leaving Heaven which is its spiritual residence…
- Mortimer J. Adler, “The Angels and Us”
"The
Angel that presided o'er my birth Said, 'Little
creature, formed of joy and mirth, Go love without
the help of any thing on earth.'"
— William Blake (The Angel That Presided)
"Spring
bursts today,
For Christ is risen and all the earth's at play.
…Sing, creatures, sing,
Angels and men and birds, and everything …"
— Christina G. Rossetti
"We
are each of us angels with only one wing. And
we can only fly by embracing each other."
— Luciano de Crescenzo
"Angels
transcend every religion, every philosophy, every
creed.
In fact Angels have no religion as we know it...
Their existence precedes every religious system
that has ever
existed on Earth."...
~ St. Thomas Aquinas
"True experiences
of angels always lead to a greater unity."
- H.C. Moolenburgh, “Meetings With Angels

song of all the angels of God."
- William Law
"Keep in mind that
angels do not belong to any one religion; they go
beyond a single religion. The angels represent the
Divine energy of God."
- Terry Lynn Taylor, "Angel Days"
"Angels are spirits
immaterial and intellectual, the glorious inhabitants
of those sacred places where there is nothing but
light and immortality; no shadow of matter for tears,
discontentments, griefs, and uncomfortable passions
to work upon; but all joy, tranquility, and peace,
even for ever and ever..."
- Richard Hooker
"There are many,
many angels, more than there are human beings. They
stand before the throne of God and praise Him. At
the same time, they are among us, with us. Angels
are real. And they are here."
- Father Robert Faricy
"It is not because
angels are holier than men or devils that makes
them angels, but because they do not expect holiness
from one another, but from God alone."
— William Blake, the visionary poet-artist
of the late 1700s and early 1800s
"What is an angel?
The two words that come closest to a true biblical

- Charlie W. Shedd, "Brush of an Angel's Wing
"If angels come
not to minister us it is because we do not invite
them, it is because we keep the door closed through
which they might otherwise enter."

the principal archangels with each of the seasons:
Raphael/spring, Uriel/summer, Michael/fall, and
Gabriel/winter.
- James R. Lewis and Evelyn Dorothy Oliver, “Angels
A to Z”
"Every redeemed
one will understand the ministry of angels in their
own life. The angel who was their guardian from
their earliest moment, the angel who watched their
steps and covered their head in the day of peril,
the angel who was with them in the valley of the
shadow of death, who marked their resting place,
who was the first to greet them in the resurrection
morning -- what will it be to hold conversation
with them, and to learn the history of divine interposition
in the individual life, of heavenly cooperation
in every work for humanity!"
— E. G. White
"The golden moments
in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing
but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only
know them when they are gone."

good unto all the creatures, . . . especially the

If there is anything we can learn from the Bible
about angels, it’s that they are real. Angels
exist."

higher,
The angels would press on us, and aspire
To drop some golden orb of perfect song
Into our deep, dear silence."

were made by God."

this act is good and as to the reason why it is
good."

And two to bear my soul away."
— Thomas Ady (A Candle in the Dark)
"Angels are spirits,
but it is not because they are spirits that they
are angels. They become angels when they are sent.
For the name angel refers to their office, not their

you ask its office, it is that of an Angel, which
is a messenger."

our safety, undertake our defense, direct our ways,
and exercise a constant solicitude that no evil
befall us."
